Judicial authority asks Electricity Minister for corruption reports

An independent judicial authority in Egypt today urged Minister of Electricity Hassan Younis to compile and submit reports on all incidents of financial and administrative corruption in the ministry.

Al-Masry Al-Youm has obtained a copy of a letter sent by Taymour Mostafa Kamel, the head of the Administrative Prosecution, asking Younis for the reports along with documentation that will enable the appropriate measures to be taken.

The Administrative Prosecution had earlier solicited the help of the Central Auditing Organization(CAO)–a governmental monitoring authority–in uncovering corruption at government bodies. It asked the CAO to form a committee to review its files and submit a report.
