Law school graduates protest against nepotism in judiciary

Law school graduates staged demonstrations before the High Judicial Court, protesting against what they deemed “nepotism” in appointing graduates at judicial institutions.

They demanded not to appoint the class of 2009, many of whom are relatives of judges, and requested the resignation of Ahmed al-Zend, president of the Judges Club.

Hossam al-Gheryany, president of the Supreme Judicial Council, met with the protesters and confirmed that appointments for the 2009 class were stopped.
