Military Production Minister Reda Hafez dies at 61

Military Production Minister Reda Hafez died on Tuesday morning, at the age of 61 years, after he had felt unwell and was taken to a hospital.
 
Lieutenant General Hafez was born in Mahala on 3 March, 1952. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1972, and participated in the following year in the 1973 October war.
 
He then served as the commander of the Air Force since 2008, and was appointed as the Military Production Minister in both the governments of Hesham Qandil and Hazem al-Beblawy .
 
Hafez was also a members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces that ruled the country during the transitional period after the 25 January revolution.
