Morsy trial over espionage resumes

Cairo Criminal Court will resume on Monday the trial of toppled President Mohamed Morsy and another 35 suspects affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood over accusations of spying for Hamas.

The court is scheduled to hear the testimony of former Interior Minister Mahmoud Wagdy.

The lawsuit includes 20 suspects remanded into custody pending investigations. They are the group’s Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, several deputies, members of the guidance bureau and Morsy’s advisers. Sixteen other suspects remain fugitives.
