Netflix announces new series starring Hend Sabry

Netflix revealed that it began filming around Cairo in January a new original Arab series starring Hend Sabry, called “Al-Bahth An Ola” (Looking for Ola).

A number of Egyptian actors will participate in the series, including Sawsan Badr, Hany Adel, Nada Moussa, Mahmoud Ellaithy, and Dalia Shawky.

The series also includes a special appearance from Arab star Khaled al-Nabawy.

“Al-Bahth An Ola” follows the story of pharmacist Ola Abdel Sabour, the main character in Sabry’s previous “Ayza Atgawez” (I Want to Get Married) series, ten years after “Ayza Atgawez” was first presented.

Ola is re-discovering, or rather reinventing herself in an attempt to keep up with rapid developments in her life. Viewers come with her on an adventure to find a balance between responsibilities and dreamy attempts to find love.

“Al-Bahth An Ola” is directed by Hady al-Bagoury. Hend Sabry will act as an executive producer on the show for the first time, through her production company.

The series is inspired by characters written by Ghada Abdel Aal and the story, script and dialogue of Maha al-Wazir and Ghada Abdel Aal.

Netflix stated that the series reflects its commitment to invest in Arabic content in the Middle East region, and support to Arab filmmakers.

“Al-Bahth An Ola” will join Netflix’s “Drama Queen” series, starring puppet Abla Fahita, on the platform in 2021.
