Officer accused of beating Ismailia vet to death remanded for 15 days

Ismailia top prosecutor Islam Hamza renewed the detention of First Lieutenant Mohamed Ibrahim for 15 days pending investigation over charges of beating a veterinary doctor to death.
 
Ibrahim is accused of using violence against and beating vet Afify Hassan in a police station in Ismailia, causing him to have a heart attack.
 
Ibrahim is also accused of trespassing onto private property, the pharmacy which belongs to the victim's wife, without a prior permit from the public prosecution. He slapped Hassan across the face before taking him to the police station where he beat him. The victim died upon his arrival to the hospital.
