Dr. Mona Mina, Secretary General of the Doctors Syndicate, said the health budget should be announced clearly to the public and to civil society organizations, so as not to put the blame for any shortcomings on doctors alone.
“The syndicate and the NGOs should take part in devising the budget from the beginning,” she said.
Dr. Mina pointed out that there are 500 health units without doctors and nurses, adding that patient rights committees in hospitals should involve the citizens residing around the hospital, when it comes to issues related to work.
She also called for stopping the attempts to privatize public hospitals, calling on Health Minister Adel Adawy to resign.
