Official interrogated after students take over school intercom system

The Education Ministry’s department in Minya referred a primary school official to interrogation after a number of students took over the school’s microphone to sing underground songs.

The head of the education department in Minya’s Mallawi, Mohsen al-Touni, said the official will be interrogated for not securing the school’s central sound unit. He said the negligence enabled a group of students to sneak into the office and sing an underground song through the microphone.

A popular video on social networks shows the students opening the room’s window and singing into the microphone. It was not clear, however, whether their action was during or after the school day.
