Parliament hopefuls deploy child campaigners during Sunday’s run-offs

Candidates vying for parliamentary seats in Sunday’s election run-offs reportedly used children as young as five years old to aid them in their campaigning efforts.

The children hit the streets at 7:00 AM on the day of the vote, brandishing banners bearing the names and pictures of candidates. They reportedly received LE10 each for their trouble.

Child campaigners sang and danced while cheering for their respective candidates, occasionally deploying foul language against rival candidates.

Reactions among passersby varied, with some joining the children in their dances while others simply ignored them.
