Police officer under interrogation for bullying civilian, violating law

Security sources from the office of Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar have revealed that police officer Ahmed A. has been referred to interrogation for bullying a civilian and smoking a cigarette at a gas station.

Social network users circulated an image of the plain-clothes police officer at a gas station. He was standing beside his car, which bore license plates, smoking a cigarette while making the victory sign with his hand.

The police officer, according to Facebook users, took a civilian's driver's license away. When he asked the officer to first apply the law on himself by adding license plates to his car and not smoking at the gas station, he was bullied into taking a picture of the officer next to his car. The officer then told him to do what he was told.

According to the sources, the police officer has been interrogated and the incident is being investigated. The sources added that the results would be announced once the investigation is concluded.
