Police vehicle stolen from Beni Suef civil-status office

Police are investigating the apparent theft of a police vehicle allocated to Colonel Sherif Abdel Sattar, head of the Civil Status Organization's (CSO) office in Beni Suef governorate.

An informed source from Beni Suef Security Department told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Tuesday that the vehicle was stationed outside the CSO office on Sheikh Metwally al-Sharawy Street before it went missing.

Police are working on the assumption that the vehicle was stolen, but so far they have no leads in the case.

Security services are checking surveillance cameras in the areas to identify the thief, said the source.

The color and model of the vehicle have been sent to all security checkpoints in the governorate.

The Civil Status Organization is an Interior Ministry body involved in the registration of births, deaths, marriages and divorces. It issues certificates for such purposes, as well as national identity documents.
