Dozens of policemen in the New Valley Governorate went on strike on Monday, demanding better armament and incentives for their service in a remote and risky area.
Brigadier General Emad Hammoud of the Kharga Police Department said all demands have been relayed to the Security Directorate to send to the Interior Ministry. “The protesters are willing to end their strike,” he said.
The protesters also demand a minimum wage and health insurance.
