Public business sector minister follows up hotel occupancy rates in past weeks

The Ministry of Public Business Sector announced that hotels affiliated to the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels (HOTAC) recorded high occupancy rates in the past period.

In a statement released on Friday, the ministry said Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat followed up on the occupancy rates at HOTAC hotels in the past weeks, which coincided with the country’s celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the June 30 revolution.

The minister stressed the importance of enhancing the quality of services offered to guests in different hotels and organizing entertainment programs for families and children, in conjunction with the start of the holiday season.

Hotels in Greater Cairo registered average occupancy rates between 80 percent and 85 percent, while hotels in Alexandria and the North Coast recorded average occupancy rates between 90 percent and 95 percent.

Hotels in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada saw average occupancy rates between 90 percent and 95 percent, while average occupancy rates at hotels in Dahab city hit 90 percent.

In Ras El Bar city, the occupancy rates at El Lisan Hotel was 100 percent.
