Qatari Emir: Qatar eased stance toward Egypt but no response

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Khalifa, informed Arab political figures on the sidelines of his recent visit to Jordan and Sudan that he knows no clear reason for Saudi Arabia's escalation against his country.

He pointed out that Saudi Arabia's hardline stance against Qatar has no justification on the ground, according to the Alrai London-baded newspaper.

Alrai quoted Qatar's emir as saying the dispute over the Muslim Brotherhood file with KSA and other Gulf countries isn't new.

Qatar's emir said he found no justification for Saudi Arabia's hardline conditions to resume relations with Qatar.

Qatar welcomes relations with brothers in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, but on the basis of mutual understanding and the exchange of views and not on the basis of rigorism, he said.

Prince Tamim noted that his country eased its situation toward Egypt's crisis and said it could deal with the fait accompli but there was no response by current Egyptian authorities or KSA, the newspaper reported.
