Salafi Dawa accuses secular forces of ‘secularizing society’

Salafi Dawa has accused what it described as the ‘secular current’ of “running planned and organized plans battles with support of the secular West to secularize Islam” and stand against the Islamic current to prevent it islamizing society.

In an article posted on Ana Salafi website, the group’s spokesperson Abdel Moneim al-Shahat, said, “the secular current, with support from the West, is applying pressure to entrench secularism under the claim of defending women, judiciary, democracy and freedoms.”

He also added that the ‘secular current’ tries through its presence in judiciary to prevent any draft laws that reinstate sharia. It is also trying to cancel or hamper constitutional articles with reference to sharia in order to pass more laws that violate sharia.

"Secularism is attempting to devote all profits gained through inciting Muslim women (against the male-dominated society) but in fact it was inciting against Islamic Sharia,” he added.

Meanwhile, Salafi-oriented Nour Party Younes Makhiyoun said he praised the judiciary for banning the Jewish Abu Hasira festival in Damanhour.
