Sharm el-Sheikh receives first flight from Milan

Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport received on Saturday its first Wizz Air flight carrying 100 tourists from Malpensa Airport in Milan, Italy.

Officials enforced all coronavirus precautionary measures from the flight’s landing to the tourists’ arrivals to their hotels.

The tourist delegation was received by Major General Nabil al-Mallah, Director of Sharm al-Sheikh airport, Director of the Office of Tourism Promotion Authority in Sharm el-Sheikh Islam Nabil, Deputy Director of the airport Yasser Shaheen, and airport’s public relations team. 

Tourists were welcomed and safely given souvenirs, Nabil said.

Flights to the Red Sea resort town from the Italian capital city Rome are schedule to continue at the rate of one per week until July, when they will increase to two per week. 

On a similar note, Hurghada Airport received its first direct flight from Armenia, carrying 180 passengers. Passengers were greeted with flowers.
