Sisi in Jordan Thursday for economic forum

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is heading a government delegation to Jordan on Thursday, where he will attend the 16th tournament of the World Economic Forum’s MENA session.

Attending the the three-day conference are more than 900 businessmen, politicians and civil society figures.

The forum said in a statement on Tuesday that the event will focus on regional peace frameworks as well as means for public-private sectors' cooperation and combating extremism and immigration issues.

Sources said Egypt was planning to propose hosting the forum in May 2016 as part of a broader plan to publicize its economic reforms and further compete for foreign investments.

Other heads of states taking part in the conference include Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Iraqi vice president Iyad Allawi.
