Sisi meets defence minister on military drill

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Thursday with Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi and a number of top brass.
The meeting reviewed the outcome of Badr 2014 Drill and its contributions to upgrading the combating skills of various Armed Forces branches, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
The president lauded the performance of the Armed Forces in the military exercise, the spokesman added.
The meeting also tackled the latest developments of the evacuation process of Sinai's border line and security measures taken to protect the Egyptian borders.
The president stressed the necessity of fulfilling all demands of the residents of the evacuated areas.
He urged coordination with all bodies concerned, including the Defense Ministry, to study the mechanisms of establishing "New Rafah" city.
Sisi was briefed on the progress in carrying out a number of national projects, including the New Suez Canal and national road network.
