Sisi offers Easter greetings to Pope Tawadros and the Coptic community

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has offered Easter greetings to Coptic Pope Tawadros II and the Coptic community in general.

He also offered his greetings to Copts abroad on the occasion of Coptic Easter, which falls this weekend.

Also offering their festive greetings to Pope Tawadros were Chief of Presidential Staff Mostafa Sherif Mahmoud, Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhy and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mahmoud Hegazy.

Meanwhile, Abdullah al-Naggar, a member of the Islamic Research Academy, spoke in a television interview of the importance of Jesus as a religious figure, saying: "The story of Jesus, as mentioned in Quran, embodies principles that we should follow.”

 

During an interview aired on Al-Qahera wal Nas TV channel on Friday, Naggar said, “The Quran mentioned Jesus, son of Virgin Mary, with greatness and sanctity. ... The creation of Jesus is certainly one of the divine miracles. He is one of God’s prophets on earth.”
