Sisi rally pavilion catches fire in Damietta

Five people suffered from suffocation when a fire broke in a pavilion at a rally supporting presidential candidate Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Kafr Saad, Damietta.

Eyewitnesses said motorcyclists poured gasoline on the back side of the pavilion, set fire to it and fled.

Emergency respondents, with the help of the residents of the area, managed to control the fire before it extended to the surrounding neighborhood.

The conference organizers, however, insisted to hold the rally on time.

Attending the rally are Bashir Hamad, secretary-general of Sisi’s campaign, Mohamed Abu Hamed, the former member of Parliament, actor Tarek al-Nahry, Mostafa Kamel, the former governor of Damietta and a number of Sisi supporters.
