Sources: Egyptian court acquits top Mubarak era official on graft charges

An Egyptian court acquitted former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly of graft charges on Thursday, judicial sources said, the latest ruling to clear prominent figures from the era of President Hosni Mubarak, who was ousted in the 2011 revolt.

El-Adly, who was charged with illegal profiting and squandering public funds of 181 million Egyptian pounds (US$23.72 million), was acquitted last month along with former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif in a separate graft case.
