State Support Coalition reviews its principles

The State Support Coalition is reviewing the terms of its principles this week, after members complained of having to waive their membership in other political parties in order to remain members of the coalition.

Sources said the coalition is postponing the announcement of its 400 members until the issue is resolved.

According to the Constitution, a deputy who changes his partisan affiliation will lose his parliamentary membership.

Sources said that former military intelligence chief Kamal Amer would be in charge of the coalition’s defense committee. Sources also said that Akmal Kortam, head of the Conservative Party, is applying for under secretary of the House of Representatives.

Sami Ahmed, spokesperson for the Homeland Future Party, said the parliamentary committees would be chosen in coordination with the State Support Coalition.
