Surgeons extract LE1,000 from patient’s abdomen

Surgeons at Assiut University Hospital have extracted LE1,000 from the abdomen of a patient.
 
The man had arrived at the hospital complaining of severe abdominal pain. Doctors initially diagnosed him with appendicitis before determining that there was a foreign object inside his body.
 
The surgeons found the money wrapped in plastic. The patient could not explain how he had swallowed, but decided to keep the sum.
