Tahrir Square’s Mugamma closed by protesters

Protesters shut down the Mugamma, a major administrative building on Tahrir Square, on Monday morning, in attempts to pile more pressure on the Muslim Brotherhood-led government.

The news marks the second day of mass protests across Egypt calling on President Mohamed Morsy to step down, paving the way for early presidential elections.

Demonstrators formed human chains in front of the Mugamma building, carrying Egyptian flags and chanting slogans condemning the Muslim Brotherhood.

Protesters, now participating in the second day of their Tahrir sit-in, called on passers-by and commuters to join them in their fight to unseat the Egyptian president, one year after he took power in democratic elections.
