Three killed, eight injured as gunmen attack police outside Azhar University dorms

Gunmen attacked on Monday security troops stationed in front of the dormitories of Al-Azhar University leaving three policemen killed and eight others injured.
 
A prosecution team visited the injured at Police Hospital in Nasr City and heard their testimonies. Some injured were in serious condition.
 
Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim offered condolences over the deaths.
 
He said that he instructed Cairo security department, central security and public security sectors to comb the area to arrest the suspects.
 
He added that such operations will foster determination of policemen to combat terrorism.
 
He also highlighted instructions to provide all the required needs to families of the victims as well as the injured.
 
The ministry's information center said around 250 students of the university's dormitories took to the streets, trying to block traffic and attack citizens as well as stores. They also hurled Molotovs and fireworks at police.
