Trial of policemen accused of killing Sharabeya protesters begins

Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday began the trial of a policeman from Sharabeya Police station. The policeman is charged with firing randomly at protesters during the 25 January protests and killing two of them.

The prosecutor said the policeman used his weapon to open fire at peaceful protesters on 28 January. He called for the imposing on the policeman the severest penalty allowed by law.
