Trump ‘divisive, stupid and wrong’ says UK prime minister

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims entering the United States were “divisive, stupid and wrong,” British Prime Minister said Wednesday.

Speaking at Prime Minister’s Questions in parliament, Cameron ruled out banning Trump from entering the United Kingdom.

“I think his remarks are divisive, stupid and wrong and I think if he came to visit our country, he would unite us all against him,” Cameron said.

Trump’s comments last week caused outrage across the world. In the United Kingdom, more than 560,000 people have signed a petition calling for the billionaire, who is standing for the Republican presidential nomination, to be barred from Britain, where he has business interests.

Cameron was responding to a question from Labour lawmaker Tulip Siddiq, who pointed out that the United Kingdom was prepared to exclude those who radicalized others or encouraged extremism.
