World Bank president to meet with Sisi and sign US$500 million loan

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim is arriving in Cairo on Tuesday evening for a one-day visit, in order to meet with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Sharm el-Sheikh and sign a US$500 million loan, aimed at financing a social housing project.

Meanwhile, the visit of the IMF mission scheduled for last Sunday was postponed due to changes in the government's agenda, as the Ministers of the Economic Group are currently in Sharm el-Sheikh, attending the African Bloc conference, and the Central Bank Governor is in the United Arab Emirates, attending a meeting of the Arab Monetary Fund.

According to informed sources, the mission is scheduled to arrive next week, in order to review the implementation of the fuel smart cards programme.
