Fifteen Egyptian fishermen released in Libya

Captain of the fishermen in Kafr al-Sheikh Ahmed Abdo Nassar said Libyan authorities released 15 Egyptian fishermen from Borg Meghaizel village who were caught six months ago in Libyan territorial waters.

The fishermen were released after the payment of a LE75,000 fine, which they paid for by selling their property.

The only way for the fishermen to return to Egypt is through Tunisia, which requires coordination between the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and Tunisian authorities.
