Pro-Morsy alliance calls for new week of protests

National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, led by the Muslim Brotherhood, has called for a new week of protests against the interim authority.

The call comes amid growing media and public mobility toward supporting nomination of Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who toppled ex-President Mohamed Morsy in July and enjoys support of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces. It also comes one day after start of Morsy trial on charges of prison escape during the 2011 revolution.

“Let’s resume the revolution in an angry revolutionary week, starting with Friday called ‘Steadfastness’ in loyalty towards martyrs’ across the country. Do as you will to support creative and peaceful resistance: burn photos of the assassin, flags of the US, the Zionist enemy and the Emirates,” the alliance said in statement.
