The Egyptian Ministry of Information has shut down Al-Jazeera's offices in Egypt and withdrawn the media permits of its journalists, according a report on the TV news station.

"We have just been notified about the decision but have no idea how it will be implemented," said Ayman Mohyeldin, an Al-Jazeera reporter based in Cairo.

It is still unclear what the consequences of this decision will be. Egypt's cabinet was dissolved on Friday night by the embattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak named a new deputy and Prime Minister yesterday, but a new government has yet to be formed.
