Four April 6 members detained for protest

Four members of the April 6 Youth Movement were detained for four days pending investigations by the Nasr City Prosecution for protesting in from of Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim’s house Thursday.

The four activists, Sayed Mounir, Abdel Azim Ahmed, Mohamad Mostafa and Mamdouh Hassan, face charges of assaulting police officers, rioting and disruption of traffic.

The Prosecution also seized 40 pieces of women’s underwear that the activists held up during the protest against the ministry’s policies.

The defendants denied all charges against them, according to investigators, but admitted holding up the underwear.

Dozens of activists from the group demonstrated at the minister’s house to demand justice for the revolution’s dead and wounded before being dispersed by Central Security Forces firing tear gas.
