NCHR denounces detainment of 25 Syrians in Alexandria

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) has denounced what it called the “suffering” of 250 Syrians detained in the Montazah and Abu Qir police stations in Alexandria. The detained Syrians were attempting to sail to Italy.

The council said in a statement that children, women and elderly Syrian nationals are being detained in places that are not proper or in accordance with international conditions and standards.

The statement called for an immediate end to their suffering, "as they are brothers that deserve all the care and support of the Egyptian people."
