Nour supports Brotherhood, Morsy

Ghad al-Thawra Party chief Ayman Nour said he supports the Muslim Brotherhood and President Mohamed Morsy for the sake of Egypt.

Nour, who reportedly has close ties to the Brotherhood, told the Saudi Arabia-based Al-Sharq newspaper on Wednesday that his party will run in upcoming parliamentary elections that have been boycotted by main opposition coalition the National Salvation Front.

Ghad al-Thawra Party aims to be the voice of the people, especially farmers, and is calling for the drafting of a new elections law.

Asked whether he may be tapped to replace Prime Minister Hesham Qandil in a Cabinet shuffle, Nour said his party is ready to form a shadow government that encompasses multiple political parties. He said many are worried about the deteriorating economy and called on Arab countries to play a positive role.

Later Nour denounced the destruction of his party's downtown headquarters in a fire and said, “We are ready to have our party headquarters burned everyday if this would serve Egypt.”

Nour attacked the NSF and accused it of "unacceptably excluding" some parties, using the same style the Brotherhood uses against the opposition. He also warned against the military getting involved in politics.

The leader concluded by criticizing authorities' decision to extradite Ahmed Qadhafi al-Dam, a former Libyan-Egyptian relations coordinator, to Libya where he is wanted on corruption charges.
