Protests escalated in last three months: report

Protests in Egypt have escalated in the past three months, according to a report issued Saturday by the Arab Foundation for Civil Society and Human Rights Support.
 
According to the report, 67 protests, sit-ins and strikes occurred between July and September. 
 
Eight protests occurred at the Education Ministry, six at the Journalists' Syndicate and five at the Cabinet headquarters. Six protests were organized against the new Civil Service Law.
 
Fourteen protests occurred in July, including four by doctors, pharmacists, and teachers, three by high school and university students, two by residents against water cuts, one by public employees against the Civil Service Law, one by policemen, one by laborers and two by the Muslim Brotherhood, said the report.
 
Twenty-eight protests occured in August, including eight protests by workers at the Endowments Ministry department in Giza, workers at the Rock Ceramic factory, workers at the General Authority for Industrial Development, workers at the Integrated Oil Company and high school students and students of the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University.
