The Shura Council’s human rights committee on Wednesday announced that it would begin drafting two new bills on transitional justice and restructuring the police force.

Members of the committee, headed by Ehab al-Kharrat, demanded that upcoming draft laws focus on minimum and maximum wages, pension, unofficial housing and street children.

Deputy committee head Ezz Eddin al-Komy and member Mohamed Azab noted that the restructuring of the police force has been discussed previously and a bill should be prepared and presented during the Shura Council’s new session, which began today.

Committee members agreed to hold a workshop to discuss the draft laws on the police force and transitional justice to accelerate their presentation to the council.
