Sisi urges tribes to hand in their weapons

Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday called on all tribes and clans in Sinai and Upper Egypt to hand in their weapons and ammunition for the sake of the stability and security of citizens.

He thanked the tribes of the western region for collecting and handing over arms and ammunition, calling them an example that other tribes should follow.

He also thanked the army for securing the western region, a most dangerous and strategic area of Egypt.

Attending the “Thunder 22” maneuvers in the western region with Chief of Staff Sidqi Subhi and leaders of the armed forces, Sisis praised the navy, the air forces and the border guards for preventing the smuggling of weapons and ammunition into Egypt.

He said the Salloum Military Hospital is courtesy of the Armed Forces for the people of the western region.
