Two police officers were killed when a truck crashed into a checkpoint they were manning on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The truck driver hit three police vehicles, killing the officers from the Roads and Checkpoints Department and then attempting to flee the scene, according to initial investigations. Authorities did not specify whether the driver had been arrested or what caused the crash.
Prosecutors are investigating the collision in Nubaria, Beheira.
