Hundreds of Zamalek's White Knights ultras protested for the second day at the Alexandria court complex Wednesday, demanding the release of a fellow group member who is being held pending investigations over the burning of a court building.

The ultras, a group of hardcore football fans, chanted slogans, demanding freedom for their fellow ultra, Omar Hesham, and the release of other suspects pending investigations. The protesters accused the media, judiciary and Interior Ministry of corruption, and called for a march to Mansheya Square in Alexandria.

The Borg al-Arab Appeals Court will review the cases of Wednesday whether to release or renew the detention of 40 suspects arrested Sunday over the burning and damage of Alexandria Criminal Court.

They are accused of rioting after a judge Sunday recused from reviewing a case on the killing of protesters during the 25 January revolution.
