Unidentified body found near Rabea al-Adaweya sit-in

Residents living in the area around Rabea al-Adaweya in Nasr City have found the body of an unknown person near the sit-in staged by supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsy.
 
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the body bears signs of torture. It was transferred to the morgue. Security forces have intensified efforts to identify the body and find out about the circumstances of the killing.
 
A report filed by the ambulance authority to the Nasr City police station mentioned that Rabea al-Adaweya residents had informed them of their discovery of an unknown body behind the mosque on Anwar al-Mufti street. Policemen described the victim as in his thirties and bearing bruises and signs of torture, as well as a deep wound to the head. No information identifying him was found on his person.
 
In their report, residents accused leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood of inciting murder and torture in the area. The Prosecution was notified in order for it to proceed to conducting an investigation into the matter.
