Vehicle carrying chemicals overturns on ring road

The ring road leading to Salam City was reopened Saturday after a vehicle carrying chemicals overturned on the road.

Traffic had been at a complete standstill for three hours after the acccident, and there were cases of suffocation as people inhaled gas leaking from the vehicle.

The vehicle was carrying 60 tons of compressed fluid, and belonged to a company in the 10th of Ramadan City, Al-Masry Al-Youm said.

The road was reopened after civil protection workers, firefighters and traffic police contained the situation and removed the car.
