The president made the remarks during a phone call that he received on Friday from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed al-Shennawy.

President Sisi invited Merz to attend a celebration hosted by Egypt for marking the signing of the ceasefire agreement in the Palestinian enclave.
On his part, the German chancellor expressed his country’s appreciation of the pivotal role played by Egypt in striking the ceasefire deal, saying Germany hopes this agreement to represent a step towards achieving lasting peace in the region.
