
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met on Sunday, November, 23, 2025, with Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the sidelines of his participation in the G20 Summit in Johannesburg.
The Egyptian premier voiced aspiration to enhance and expand cooperation between Egypt and Japan to include advanced technological industries, artificial intelligence and digital governance, in addition to opening new avenues for economic cooperation.
Madbouly also praised ties binding Egypt and Japan, as well as Japan’s support for major national projects, especially the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the Egyptian-Japanese partnership in education.
For her part, Takaichi voiced her appreciation for long-standing relations between the two countries and her desire to build on recent high-level visits and strengthen cooperation across the various fields.
