Alexandria University students call for toppling military council

About 3000 students of Alexandria University staged protests on Sunday, calling for the ouster of the military council and the handover of power to a civilian authority. They denounced the violent incidents in Tahrir Square.

They marched to the Northern Region Command, carrying banners with slogans against the council and Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi.

Meanwhile, more than 1500 activists from various political movements also staged protests in front of command headquarters to denounce violence used by military police against protesters in Tahrir Square.
