Art Day to be inaugurated Thursday after 33-year suspension

Interim president Adly Mansour will inaugurate on Thursday evening the Art Day after 33 years of suspension.Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb, Culture Minister Mohamed Saber Arab, Information Minister Dorreya Sharaf Eddin, head of the General Federation of Art Unions Hany Mehanna and a number if foreign and Arab ambassadirs would attend the event.
 
Mansour will honor during the celebration 14 artists, and composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab, whose birthday coincides with the event.
 
The celebration is divided into three parts, including performances by musicians, playwrights and filmmakers.
 
Mansour will grant a number of deceased artists the Republic Medal of Science and Arts including Mohamed Fawzy, Ezzedine Zulfiqar, Roshdy Abaza, Abdel Hay Adeeb, and Ahmed Munib. He will honor as well Faten Hamama, Nadia Lotfy, Shadia, Samiha Ayoub, Hassan Yousef, Ezzat Alayli, Mahmoud Yassin, Magda, and Mohsen Nasr.
 
The celebration will conclude with a concert for Angham and Hany Shaker.
