Bibliotheca Alexandrina begins documenting 25 January revolution

Khaled al-Azab, director of information administration at Biblitheca Alexandrina and supervisor of the Memory of Modern Egypt Project, said project staff have started documentation of the 25 January revolution as part of the Biblitheca Alexandrina’s role in documenting Egyptian history.

In press release on Tuesday, al-Azab said the project will inform Egyptians and others, through the project’s website, of all the materials related to the revolution including pictures, official documents and unofficial statements, in addition to a press archive, songs and videos.

Mahmoud Ezzat, head of the project’s research unit, welcomed all contributions sent via email to [email protected]g.

The project now has documentary files of the revolution incidents since its beginning, including special files for each governorate, said al-Azab.

The Memory of Modern Egypt is considered an important website for Egyptian history spanning two centuries, starting from Mohamed Ali Pasha in 1805 until deceased President Mohamed Anwar al-Sadat in 6 October 1981. The website is updated twice a month.
