Bus accident injures nine on July 26 corridor

Nine persons were injured in a bus accident at the 26 of July corridor on Tuesday. The injured were taken to hospital for urgent medical attention, before traffic was allowed to flow again.

 

A police report was filed and sent to prosecution to conduct investigations. Testimonies of the bus driver, who is being treated, and the car drivers will be heard.

 

The crash caused huge traffic congestions on the road from 6 of October City toward downtown Cairo, according to a source from the Giza security department.

 

Investigations showed that the public transportation bus driver lost control of the bus which made him deviate from his path and hit three cars before and smashing the concrete barrier.

 

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry declared injury of nine persons.

Ahmed al-Ansary, chief of the ambulance authority, said six ambulances arrived to the accident spot within five minutes. Six of the injured were transferred to Sheikh Zayed hospital, while the rest were taken to Imbaba public hospital, according to Khaled Megahed, the health ministry spokesperson.
