Doctor who leaked Mubarak audios summoned for interrogation

South Cairo prosecutors summoned the doctor who had been monitoring former President Hosni Mubarak in Tora Prison Hospital for interrogation over leaked recordings for Mubarak.

The doctor had allegedly recorded the audios and published them in a newspaper without Mubarak's permission.

The head of Basateen prosecution listened to Fareed al-Deeb, Mubarak's lawyer, who filed a claim against the doctor. Deeb said the doctor who monitored Mubarak's case in Tora Prison Hospital took advantage of his job, recorded in secret and in violation of the terms under which Mubarak discussed the conditions of the country, and published the recordings in Youm7 newspaper and on its website.

Deeb demanded prosecution summon Youm7 editor-in-chief Khaled Salah for interrogation. Deeb accused the doctor of selling the audios to the newspaper without Mubarak's permission.

Prosecutors will now listen to Mubarak's testimony at Maadi Military Hospital where he is currently being held.
