Environment Minister mulls logistic preparations for Egypt’s participation at COP28

Environment Minister Yasmeen Fouad has stressed that the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) needs to build on great success made at the Egypt-hosted COP27.

The minister made her remarks at a meeting held on Saturday with respective officials to discuss the latest logistic arrangements on Egypt’s participation at the COP28, to be held late 2023 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

COP28 needs to build on initiatives launched at the COP27 under Egypt’s presidency, including the ENACT initiative, which stands for Enhancing Nature-based Solutions for an Accelerated Climate Transformation, and the Global Waste Initiative 50 by 2050, Fouad reiterated.

The minister also discussed the mechanisms of logistic preparations on technical arrangements and designs of Egypt’s pavilion that will partake at the COP28.
