Father tortures his son to death over theft

A South Giza prosecutor ordered the four-day detention of a government employee on Tuesday, pending an investigation into charges of torturing his 14-year-old son to death at their home in the Bulaq al-Dakrour neighborhood of Cairo.
 
The father accused his son of stealing LE1,000 from his wardrobe.
 
The defendant, Gad A., 48, is an Agriculture Ministry employee, according to investigations. He discovered that LE1,000 was missing from his wardrobe and suspected his son, Nader. He tied up his son and tortured him for nine hours until he died, according to investigations. The defendant kept his son tied from 5 am until 2 pm and used a thick stick, an electric wire and an aluminum ladle to beat him.
 
The prosector ordered the seizure of the alleged torture tools, as well as an inspection of the scene of the crime.
